Electroactive Polymers for Opto-Electronic Devices

Abstract


This invention is a method for preparing insoluble electroactive polymers from oligomer, short-chain precursors without using harsh chemicals or extreme processing conditions. This means polymer layers and laminates used in optoelectronic devices can be produced without dangerous materials and without undesirable byproducts. Furthermore, without these chemicals the physical and chemical properties of the devices fabricated are not adversely affected. This is very useful for producing devices requiring electroactive films or polymeric multilayers, such as LEDs, photovoltaic cells and many other devices.
