High Performance Alkali-Ion Batteries

Abstract


Researchers in Prof. Yi Cui’s laboratory have invented a procedure to produce novel activated carbon-based anodes. These electrodes have better electrochemical performance than previous activated carbon materials – higher voltage batteries, higher energy, better cycle life and improved electrical conductivity. They can be used to develop aqueous alkali-ion batteries for commercial devices.

Related Technology
These anodes can be used to improve the performance of the metal-organic framework materials described in Stanford Docket S11-046.
