Anti-mouse TIM-1 mAb 3B3
Dr. Rosemarie DeKruyff and colleagues have generated an agonistic TIM-1 monoclonal antibody (mAb), called TIM-1 mAb 3B3. TIM-1 plays critical roles in regulating immune cell activity and is also involved in allergic response and asthma. To better understand how TIM-1 functions in the immune system the inventors generated the 3B3 mAb. It is a rat IgG2a mAb and can be used for research to study the surface expression and function of TIM-1.
Stage of research
The inventors have shown the 3B3 antibody is specific for TIM-1 and have used it in a variety of in vitro and in vivo studies to investigate TIM-1 function.
Applications
- Research studies
- Cell staining- when conjugated to an appropriate fluorochrome, 3B3 can be used to identify TIM-1 expressing cells.
- 3B3 can be used in vitro to activate T cells that express TIM-1, in conjunction with T cell receptor stimulation, or administered in vivo.
Advantages
- 3B3 is an agonistic TIM-1 mAb
- 3B3 recognizes both the BALB/c and C57Bl/6 alleles of TIM-1.
