Docket #: S25-582

A New Approach to the Persistent Public Health Challenge of Opioid Overdose

Drug addiction remains one of the most significant preventable public health crises in the United States. Researchers at Stanford have designed a combination therapeutic intended to address this critical unmet healthcare need. The treatment landscape is crowded and growing, yet current standard-of-care options still leave a gap in outcomes.

Early preclinical evaluation in mice to address the efficacy, tolerability, and durability of protection has produced encouraging results. Further studies, manufacturing development, and regulatory work will be needed to support clinical evaluation.

Building on proprietary Stanford technology, the approach takes a different path to a long-standing problem. The goal is to deliver meaningful public health impact across community and institutional care settings.
