Abstract


Recall is a patented technology that links portions of a drawing or handwritten notes to audio or video recordings by assigning time stamps to the elements of the sketch/notes as they are made by actions on the drawing surface. This allows users to listen to or watch the portion of the recording associated with a given section of the drawing or notes. With handwritten notes this allows the context of a section of notes to be recorded in audio/video and later played back; this is useful if a note is unclear or a user wishes to replay the audio/video associated with the note. With sketches, Recall allows the replay of parts of a design or creative session with the associated features of the sketch, providing the context or thoughts behind given design features. Recall is a Java program designed to run on a server in a server-client architecture.

Recall can be enhanced with Voice to Text and Sketch (V2TS) which provides an automated tool to convert speech to text and index both the audio and text output (see Stanford Docket S03-359).
