Soluble CD81 Fusion Constructs
Soluble CD81 molecules were constructed for the purpose of identifying a postulated ligand to CD81. Recently CD81 has been claimed by others to be a candidate for a receptor for the human hepatitis C virus (HCV). The soluble CD81 could be used to block binding of viral proteins to cells.
Advantages
- Such soluble constructs have not been made previously.
